Firstly they will assess the sofa material so as to plan the best cleaning method, it is important to assess whether the sofa requires a wet cleaning or dry cleaning process.

Here are the 8 steps we take to ensure you have the cleanest upholstery:

1. HIGH-FILTRATION VACUUM
First we vacuum with a high filtration cleaning system specifically designed for super-high performance professional cleaning. Very few upholstery cleaning companies in Cambridge take the time to thoroughly vacuum before the cleaning starts.


2. PRE-SPOT DIFFICULT STAINS
We will pre-spot all difficult stains. That is we will carry out specialist stain removal techniques on stains – or that we know will be difficult to remove using non-specialist techniques.


3. PRE-SPRAY AND AGITATION
Next we will apply a pre-spray specially designed to electro-mechanically lift oily dirt and pollutants from the fibres. At Art of Clean, we will gently massage the cleaning solution into the fibres.


4. UPHOLSTERY CLEANING HOT WATER EXTRACTION
The hot water extraction unit we use cleans much better because it heats the cleaning solution and then pushs it into the fibres. This helps to break up the dirt, bacteria and pollens in the fibres. The machine then produces a huge vacuum volume to draw the dirt and chemicals out of your upholstery. The dirty water and polluted air is vented outside to our cleaning unit. This allows your indoor air quality to remain very high. These steps are not always followed by other upholstery cleaning companies in Cambridge and therefore we offer a far superior service.


5. RESIDUE RINSE
We use the upholstery extraction machine to ensure a residue free rinse that ensures the integrity of your fibres and helps to retard re-soiling on your upholstery.


6. GROOMING
Where, appropriate we will groom your upholstery to leave it in best possible condition. This usually means we run a grooming brush over the fibres to ensure that they are tangle-free.


7. PROTECTION

8. RAPID-DRY

 How to Get Baby Vomit Out of Your Couch

Babies are many things—they are small, they are cute, they are curious and cuddly. Unfortunately, amongst all of these positive attributes, I must also add that babies are messy. Very, very messy. They are so messy, in fact, that they often leave their parents, their clothes, and the items around them covered in food, spit, and other unmentionables. So today, we’re going to help you learn how to get baby vomit out of your couch. It’s not a fun job, but someone has to do it. TO REMOVE THE STAIN

First, act fast! If you move quickly, you should be able to remove a lot of the stain before it has time to seep into the upholstery fibers. Wipe the vomit into a plastic bag using paper towels (and wear gloves, if you have them).
Second, if your cushions have removable covers, take them off and stick them in the washing machine. If the vomit only affected the covers, you’re golden! If not, read on.
One of the most convenient, inexpensive, and effective cleaners around, vinegar is perfect for baby vomit stains. It removes mold and bacteria as well as nasty smells. In fact, a microbiologist at Good Housekeeping found that plain old 5% vinegar is 90% effective against mold and 99.9% effective against bacteria (source). It’s also environmentally-friendly, easy to find, and useful in a variety of other cleaning tasks. Mix vinegar with warm water and apply the solution to your couch, using a washcloth or brush to scrub. The stain must be saturated and the scrubbing thorough. When the stain is gone, rinse the area with water, blot with a towel, and allow the spot to dry.
If you don’t have vinegar handy (or if you hate the smell!), try combining dish soap with water and mixing it until you have a soapy solution. Again, just like with the vinegar, you want to apply the solution to the stain, saturating it, and then scrub with a washcloth or brush. Blot and allow the spot to air dry.
With both vinegar and dish soap, you may not be successful on your first attempt. Repeat the steps until the area is clean and spotless. If the stain still remains after numerous attempts, try purchasing a commercial cleaning product designed for couch stains. There are many types available, but those created for pet stains and odors should work especially well.

TO GET RID OF THE SMELL

To remove any odors that linger after you’ve learned how to get baby vomit out of your couch, spray on more vinegar and let it dry. The vinegar has a strong odor as well, so be patient and allow everything to dry before you judge this solution’s success. If vinegar doesn’t work on its own, try combining it with another great multi-purpose cleaning product: baking soda. Spray the area with vinegar, blot it into the upholstery, and sprinkle on some baking soda. Let the spot sit for several hours (preferably overnight) so it is completely dry, and then vacuum off the powder. Repeat if necessary.
