Efflorescence is caused when soluble salts and other water dispersive materials come to the surface of a stone floor. We see a lot of effervescence when there is no dam sheet under the floor so you will find that in old houses.

Low temperatures, condensation, moist conditions, rain, dew and water can cause effervescence. It can occur very soon after exposure to moist or cool conditions. This is quite difficult to remove it and if you don't allow the floor to breath after applying the sealant, you will have some problem in the future.

We are looking forward to a night out on the town to experience the local flavour. We will be going with Brouke (Broukie for short) and Woderson (Wondy for short) – They were our helpers over the past 2 weeks. We had a great night out with local food and drink.

I just woke up from a nice long lie-in.... can it be...its 12:00

I am sure we will have a lazy day and get ready to head out tomorrow morning for about 7am so we get to the airport on time...

Clay tile cleaning and sealing

This week I spent a lot of time on cleaning hard floors including, Terracotta, porcelain tiles and also re-coloured a grout line. I had a big job removing some old sealer on a clay tile floor in Impington. The reward for the jobs this week was not really the payment but the happy clients at the end. Here are a few pictures
