THE BARTLOW THREE COUNTIES CHARITY WALK Sunday 3rd May

Now in it’s twelfth year, the Bartlow Three-Counties Charity Walk is a family-fun sponsored walk on Sunday 3rd May in support of Addenbrooke’s Palliative Care, Linton Health Centre and the Bartlow Church Restoration Fund. The walk starts at 10am in the Paddock, Bartlow, with registration open from 9.30 – 11.30am and 10am-2pm for the Nature Trail.

The Bartlow Three-Counties Charity Walk is thrilled to welcome Dr Keith McNeil, Chief Executive of Cambridge University Hospitals, to officially start this year’s walk and take part himself. We are also pleased to announce that our main sponsor is Art of Clean, your first choice for furniture and soft furnishing care in Cambridgeshire.

In it’s eleven years, the Bartlow Three Counties Charity Walk has raised £108,000 for local causes, which has funded numerous projects at Linton Health Centre and Addenbrookes hospital and has allowed the restoration of Bartlow’s historic church, where the medieval wall paintings were given a new lease of life in Summer 2014.

With the routes reviewed for 2015, we offer four walks through beautiful local countryside, taking in Europe’s largest Iron Age Roman burial site at the Bartlow Hills. For those wanting a challenge, the established 13-mile route will take walkers to the point where Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex meet, while the shorter 6 and 9 mile routes make stimulating walks for all. For the young and young at heart, we also offer the popular mile-long Nature Trail. These walks are almost entirely off-road, well signed and only available through special agreement with local landowners, making them unique to the Bartlow Three-Counties Charity Walk. Dogs are welcome on all walks but must be kept on a lead at all times. Refreshments and entertainment for all the family are available in the Bartlow Paddock throughout the day.
This is a sponsored charity walk and we encourage walkers to raise as much sponsorship as possible in support of Addenbrooke’s Palliative Care, Linton Health Centre and Bartlow Church Restoration. However, if you would prefer to pay on the day, minimum ‘on the day’ self-sponsorship, with free parking included, is £10 per adult and £5 per child (4-12 yrs) for the 13, 9 and 6 mile routes. The Nature Trail is £5 for everyone but under 4’s walk free.

The Bartlow Three-counties Charity Walk is always a memorable event for all the family and we look forward to welcoming walkers of all abilities on Sunday 3rd May. For further information, to download sponsorship forms or to register online, please go to www.bartlow.org.uk.
