When does British summertime start? | Art of Clean

How was your weekend?  I spent my Sunday afternoon at my local garden centre, Twenty Pence Garden Centre in Wilburton near Ely.  There was such a wonderful array of flowers in bloom and all ready to plant in the garden.  If you were outside did you notice something different?  Yes, that's right, not only was the sun shining where I was, but the there was a bit of heat in those beautiful rays of sunshine.  And with that in mind - it must almost be time for the clocks to go forward?

In the UK the clocks go forward for one hour at 1am on the last Sunday in March, and go back an hour at 2am on the last Sunday in October.

It's not worth thinking about but when the clocks do go back, the UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), when means it gets darker earlier, and you can do less in the evenings.

The official date then for the clocks to go forward is March 27, while they go back on October 30.

Clocks go forward on March 27 2016
