How is your cleaning and restoration firm helping the environment?

Breaking news from Bloomberg.com last week shows astonishing figures that confirm 2014 was the hottest year on record.  The preceding years were also higher than average compared to over a century of recordings.

As Mahatma Gandhi said, it is up to all of us "to be the change we want to see in the world".  This is why Art of Clean have made steps as a business to be more "Green".

How have Art of Clean gone Green?

Our fleet of vans have been converted to run on LPG, a more environmentally friendly fuel source.  Our truck-mounted carpet cleaning machines are also run on LPG.
We recycle all recyclable materials (e.g. bottles and wrappings)

We use concentrated cleaners where ever possible to reduce packaging waste .
We always aim to provide a service to preserve floors and furnishings to last as long as possible, as the life of the product lasts longer they do not need to be replaced for many more years.  By re-using the items we have created lower demand for manufacturing which results in a reduction in manufacturing emissions.
Using oil based options on wood floors we are reducing the need for future sanding.  Also using water based products at all cost reduces the chemical emissions.  Where these options are not possible we use alcohol based fillers, primers and cleaners rather that bad solvents (pallmann allbase and allkit - citrus skin oil for chewing gum removal)

There is always room for improvement and we are keen to learn and grow.  Tell us, how is your cleaning and restoration firm helping the environment?
