Rugs of the world - where do rugs come from?

Oriental rugs are hand- knotted Asia, Iran, China, India, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nepal. Persian rug designs may be named after the city or village in which they were woven. Tabriz, Hamadan, Heriz and Sarouk are some of the most popular designs that have kept their regional namesakes.
